It forms large rock-like structures known as coral reefs sheltering and feeding thousands of organisms from plankton and algea to the largest fish species. It is an essential life support system not only to the marine biodiversty but also to us.
The reefs are under threat and many worldwide have faced bleaching episodes recently.
